A friend of mine showed this to me today while she was in New York. It is cute sugar cookie and the company will ship!
The bakery is called Elenis and the website is www.elenis.com. There is a beautiful bride, as well, and you can choose the hair color for both bride and groom. ( They have cookies for several occasions. )
Aren't weddings fun?
I started out writing about my son's wedding. Now that's over. But I will have 2 others to marry one day, and a grandchild is on the way. So, for now, I will write about whatever comes my way.

No-Carbarita
I came across this mix as I was researching better tasting low cal options. It has"No carbs, No sugar, No fat, No calories and No guilt". So, you mix it into 32 oz of water and add 6 oz of tequila, more or less according to your taste.
This is really pretty good!
I have been looking for the Margarita Crystal Light flavor and haven't been able to find it. I have a feeling this is similar to what that might be.
I will order this again! And it is made by someone in Georgia! Even better.

History of the Creator of No-Carbarita and why she created it?
No-Carbarita was created by Peggy Anderson of Valdosta, Georgia. She loves Margaritas!
Did you know that two 8-ounce margaritas can have over 100g of carbs and over 1000 calories? No wonder I was gaining weight!
I had gone on a low-carb diet and hated it because I could not have a margarita! So I developed NO-CARBARITA, which can conform to any diet, whether you are watching your carbs or fat. Diabetics can also enjoy NO-CARBARITA because it is sugar free!
After testing several different recipes, even trying her competitors mixes, her hard work and dedication resulted in the BEST tasting Margarita mix ever. When we tried it we were amazed at how wonderful it tasted, especially with it being sugar free. It is hard to find drinks that are sugar free that actually taste great. But, these margaritas taste GREAT! That is why we had to add her product to our website, to help promote the BEST tasting Margarita Mix out on the market today!
Here is the website in case you are interested in ordering some:

So Many Cute Things!!!
I saw this wine in a wedding magazine and knew I had to have it for something! My daughter will be a bridesmaid in her brother's wedding so I went on a web search to see where I could get it. Some websites were out of stock, some can't send wine to Georgia. But I did find one that had it and would send it to me: Lake Forest Wine. It comes in a red and a white.
Two More Margarita Mixes
The 2 mixes I am reporting on today are:
On the Border Margarita Light (I bought at Target) and Jose Cuervo Light Mix--no tequila included.
The verdict: On the Border: 10 calories per 4 oz with 1 0z tequila is very sweet.
Jose Cuervo: 0 calories per 4 oz with 1 oz tequila is very tart.
Neither are all that good.
So far, I had rather drink a small Cuervo Light that comes with tequila instead of the "barely any calories" mixes where you add tequila. It would be 200 calories for 3 oz.
Found the following online:
And speaking of margarita mixes, I found this little packaged mix at Party City that is a cute party favor:

Margaritas are one of the 10 most fattening cocktails, according to Forbes.com. If the drink is made with 4 oz. limeade, 4 oz. tequila and 1/3 oz. triple sec, it contains about 740 calories.
A Low-Calorie Alternative
To make a low-calorie margarita, HungryGirl.com suggests combining 1.5 oz. tequila, 3/4 cup no-calorie lemon-lime soda, 1 packet of sugar-free powdered lemonade drink mix and 2 tbsp. of lime juice. Pour over one cup of ice and garnish with a lime slice. Your drink will contain 115 calories.
I have put diet Sprite in the Jose Cuervo Light With Tequila and it is pretty good. So you get more drink and less "buzz". I will try the above HungryGirl and let you know how that tastes.

Lady Antebellum
At 3:00 a.m., when we (I) realized that we accidentally closed The Baby in one of the children's rooms, I asked my loving husband to remind me, sweetly, the next time I wanted a second margarita, that one is all this little wuss can tolerate during the time it takes to eat dinner. At 3:15, I was wide awake with a queazy stomach. OMG! It was just 1 1/2 margaritas! At 3:30 I knew I was awake for the night. At 3:45 my mind was whirling about the "party season" for the Bridal Couple and the Bride -to Be's parents visiting. At 4:00 I started obsessing, again, about who I wasn't able to invite to the wedding. At 4:15 I just got up. I know there is nothing I can do about my precious friends who I can't invite. I have analyzed, strategized, rationalized and organized lists and lists. I have begged the No. 1 son to consider giving me more invitations. Even though I can't say that I am happy with the final list, (that would be only if I could invite all I wanted to invite), I can say that after thinking it through many times, I am resigned to the list and feel it is the best I can do for this wedding and this child. Everyone who I want to include but can't, really does understand, so I need to just move on.......for good!
Then I started obsessing about how I could get everyone from LaGrange to the Rehearsal Dinner. I don't think I can. We'll see if any family on the Bride's side or any of the Couple's friends are not able to attend and then I will revisit that idea. This afternoon I worked a little on the party favors for the Rehearsal Dinner. I decided I might have more room in the car if I don't totally put them together. But if I do things, like put the little items it their decorative bags and tie the ribbons, that will save some time when i get there. I will post pictures of them after the dinner. Don't want to spoil the surprise---not that they will be up to the bridal magazine standards---but I do think they will be cute.
I didn't write about my little meltdown the other day. Well, let me clarify. I did write about it, posted it, and then deleted it: The invitations to the Rehearsal Dinner came and I was so excited. I opened the box, loved them, was excited that that they fit the No. 1 son so well, and then realized that I had forgotten to have the time of the dinner printed!!! When my loving husband walked in the door from work he could tell in an instant that something was wrong. I have only 1 thing to be responsible for; I have been looking forward to planning it since he was born; and I forgot to put the time on the invitation!!!!! ARGH!!!!! After running through all the ways I could add it before mailing, my sweet husband suggested that I get in touch with the printer. Duh. I did, and my contact was upset that she didn't notice it either. So they are being reprinted at a very reasonable cost---very worth it.

A Little Aside
So, I have decided that I am going to do some taste tasting for light margaritas. The first 3 are: Skinny Girl, Baha Bob's, and Jose Cuervo Light. Skinny Girl has the tequila in it and the calorie count is 37.5 for 1.5 oz. Baha Bob's has no tequila and no calories. And Jose Cuervo Light has 100 calories for
1.5 oz. Baha Bob's is terrible. UGH!!!!! Skinny Girl is bad, but tolerable with salt and a squeeze of lime. Jose Cuervo Light is definitely the best of the 3. Mixing Skinny Girl and Jose Cuervo Light is all right and can add a few more oz. without as many calories. 1.5 oz is a jigger---not very much.
Stay tuned for reviews of other light margarita mixes!

Stress
A friend sent this to me today. I needed it, for sure!!
| |
A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience; with a raised glass of water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, 'half empty or half full?'..... she fooled them all... "How heavy is this glass of water?", she inquired with a smile.
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.
She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "and that's the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."
"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden - holding stress longer and better each time practiced. So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through the evening and into the night... pick them up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment. Relax, pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short.Enjoy it and the now 'supposed' stress that you've conquered!"
1 * Accept the fact that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue!
2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
4 * Drive carefully... It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker..
5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
8 * Never buy a car you can't push.
9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
10 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.
13 * When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.
17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
19 * Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today............
20 * It was me, your friend!
*Save the earth..... It's the only planet with chocolate!

The Waiting Game
"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." Elizabeth Stone
I was telling a friend yesterday that I hadn't expected this lull in the activity of planning for the wedding. I know that all I have to do is the Rehearsal Dinner, and I should be reveling in the fact that I have a little break. I am sure that one reason is because the couple is 5 hours away, can't come but once for a party weekend, and are doing a lot of things on their own. The Rehearsal Dinner invitations will be ready in a couple of days, so I will enjoy getting them addressed and ready for mailing. The Bride-to Be should be bringing the wedding invitations at the end of the month for me (and any calligraphy student friends) to begin addressing, so I will be busy soon enough, I guess! Hmmmm....I think I've changed my mind. I like this lull, after all!
I AM getting things done at the house in preparation for the visit of the Bride-to-Be's parents. They aren't going to spend the night here, but I still want things to look better and actually work. I have put off doing the punch list that seems to be never-ending with owning a home. So their visit is the perfect reason to get some of them done.

Party Season
"Love at first sight is easy to understand; it's when 2 people have looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle." Amy Bloom
Lola is getting ready for our little wedding party season. This morning she wanted to have a photo session in her new outfit. She is ready for the 2 parties (that we are so thankful that we are allowed to have), but I am not. The outfit below is for the shower, we think.
This outfit, we think, is a little more casual and may be cooler for the cocktail party that will be partly outside. We just don't know how the bandana should be placed!
